Health Diet Figure - Jean Henry Dunant (part 1)

Jean Henri Dunant (May 8, 1828 - October 30, 1910), aka Henry Dunant was a Swiss citizen who is known as the father of the World Red Cross. Jean Henri Dunant was born on May 8, 1828 in Geneva Switzerland as the first son of businessman Jean-Jacques Dunant and his wife Antoinette Dunant Colladon. Both parents stressed the value of Henry unant very social, active father to help orphans and parolees, while his mother worked with the sick and poor.

Dunant growing religion in the period known as the Reveil, and at the age of 18 he joined the Society of Geneva to contribute to the poor. In the next year, along with his friends, he founded the so-called "Thursday Association", which apart from a young band of men who meet for Bible study and helping the poor, and spends much of his time to visit inmates in prisons and social work.

On 30 November 1852, he founded the Geneva chapter of the YMCA and three years later he took part in the Paris meeting devoted to the founding of international organizations. In 1849, at age 21, Calvin College Dunant was forced to leave because of a bad value, and he began his apprenticeship at the company's Exchange Rates Lullin et Sautter. After a successful, he was designated as a bank employee.

In about 1853, Dunant visited Algeria, Tunisia, and Sicily, served on a company devoted to the "colonies of Setif" (genevoise Compagnie des colonies de Setif). Despite little experience, he managed to complete the task. Inspired by the trip, he wrote the first book under the title An Account of the Regency in Tunis (Notice sur la Regence de Tunis), published in 1858. 

 

In 1856, he created a business to operate in foreign colonies, and, after being granted a land concession by French-occupied Algeria, a corn-growing and trading company called the Financial and Industrial Company of Mons-Djémila Mills (Société financière et industrielle des Moulins des Mons-Djémila). However, the rights of land and water that are not clearly defined, and the colonial authorities did not particularly cooperative. As a result, Henry Dunant decided to appeal directly to the French emperor Napoleon III, who with the army in Lombardy at the time. France had fought alongside Piedmont-Sardinia against Austria, which has occupied many Italians now. Dunant wrote a book full of flattering praise for Napoleon III with the intention to present to the emperor, and then traveled to Solferino to meet with him personally. 

Dunant arrived in Solferino on the night of June 24, 1859, on the same day as a battle between the two sides have occurred in dekatnya.Tiga-eight thousand wounded, dying and dead, still on the battlefield, and there was little will attempt to provide care. Shocked, Henry Dunant himself took the initiative to organize the civilian population, especially women and girls, to provide assistance to the wounded and sick soldiers. They lack adequate materials and supplies, and Dunant himself arranged the purchase of materials needed and help set up a temporary hospital. He convinced people to serve the wounded regardless of their sides in the conflict by the slogan "Tutti Fratelli" (All are brothers) who coined by a woman near the town of Castiglione delle Stiviere.

After returning to Geneva in early July, Dunant decided to write a book about his experiences entitled Un Souvenir de Solferino (A Memory of Solferino). the book was published in 1862 in an edition of 1,600 copies and was printed at his own cost Dunant.
